I think I can speak for most Nashville wedding photographers when I say that we love when the summer starts to show hints of melting into fall. This is how Eric and Kelci’s wedding felt. The warm breeze blew across the golf course and gave us the perfect weather for an early September wedding. The sun was shining but it wasn’t too warm. The light glowed almost as bright as Kelci and Eric did all day.

Kelci and Eric prioritized cultivating an intimate feel for their wedding day. We saw this take shape in a variety of ways. First, they reached out to me before they had selected a venue, knowing that we were a perfect fit for their vision. They wanted to spend their day (and planning leading up) with someone who brought a sense of comfort and ease so that they could get photos that looked and felt like them. Secondly, the venue they chose was a weighty decision because they wanted a space that leaned traditional. But above all else, they wanted a space that helped them to bring that warm, close feeling to their day.

Getting Ready | Timeless Country Club Wedding Day

Each and every detail was curated with such intentionality. At the start of the day, we saw that in the invitation suite and as I gathered all of Kelci and Eric’s mementos for their detail photos. The little things go a long long way in really bringing your wedding day together. The details can elevate your photos in a stunning way. Family heirloom jewelry, an old photograph of your grandmother in her wedding dress, a special handkerchief-all of these things add a beautiful depth to your day.

After a slow morning enjoying time with her girls and easing into the day, we moved into a first look with her Dad and brothers. Again, remember that they were planning their day around intentionality and an intimate feel. Because of this, we made sure to add in pockets throughout the day to slow down, to enjoy their people and settle into the day. One of the ways we infused that into the day was a special time with her Dad and brothers. Their excitement for Kelci and their sibling relationships seriously made my heart melt. It was so sweet to see them rally around her and celebrate her and Eric to the fullest.

Finally, we moved into *the* first look. A quiet space, private vows, plus two really great people means a sweet and sacred time for them to be together before the day really gets going.

The Ceremony | Chevy Chase Country Club

When I tell you that Kelci was giddy and overflowing with joy throughout the ceremony, I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. It was heartwarming and sentimental and a joy to watch Kelci and Eric throughout their ceremony just take it all in, be present with their loved ones, and just be excited to be married in a way that they couldn’t contain.
