As a wedding photographer who is primarily in Franklin, TN, it’s always so fun to have the opportunity to be part of out-of-state weddings. Krista and Jack’s Minnesota wedding day was no exception.
First, If you asked what the perfect wedding day would be like, I would describe theirs. The sky was the perfect shade of blue with fluffy clouds and it didn’t get over 75 degrees the whole day. The best part? There was no humidity. I mean can you hope for anything better!? We got a stunning sunset too! With one of their biggest concerns being that we got good weather, it could not have been a better day!
Secondly, when I originally talked with Krista and Jack they said they envisioned their day like a giant family bbq- a close and tight-knit vibe, a good time for everyone, and no shortage of good food and drink. Keeping that vision at the forefront, it was really important to them to partner with vendors who were personable. They needed to feel like they could get to know each other, have open lines of communication, and that their vendors would understand them and make their dream day come to life.
Krista and Jack really embodied what you’d imagine a bbq to be like- fun, laid back and here for a good time!
One of my favorite things that Krista and Jack talked about as we worked through their timeline was that they wanted to spend absolutely as much time together as possible on their wedding. By the time we got to their first look they were *beyond* anxious to finally see each other.
We moved into some portraits just the two of them so they could be together and be present in the moment. They were going to be married so so soon!
Finally, we jumped in to bridal party portraits shortly after. Krista and Jack wanted to enjoy their night and be as present as possible from the Ceremony on, so that meant getting as many portraits done before guests arrived.

After the ceremony, Krista had a vision for a confetti exit. And with over 200 guests, it was over-the-top in the best way! A confetti exit is such a fun alternative to the end-of-the night reception exit. I mean look how fun this was. They went straight into cocktail hour and spending time with their guests.
The Grand Reveal
Before guests flooded in to find their seats, Krista and Jack took a quiet moment for a reception reveal. All of her hard work, time and energy spent creating this vision had come to life! It was really sweet and intentional to have a time for them to just sit in it and enjoy it all!

Finally, the night ended with a celebration that matched Krista and Jack’s fun and zest for life. There was dancing, drinks flowing, and of course late night pizza. We love a late night snack for guests.
In addition to the beautiful portraits from earlier in the day, we took some time to take fun reception photos to add that celebratory depth to their gallery. You just really can’t beat sneaking away for a few moments during the party – the formalities are out of the way, you’re totally relaxed and enjoying a giant party with your people. Look at them, you can see the joy and excitement on their faces!
As you can tell, Krista and Jack are the real deal. I’m so glad and honored I got to be part of their wedding day. I don’t take the honor lightly and loved being in the mix with them on their best day ever.
